What is sleep apnea?

Obstructive sleep apnea is a serious and life-threatening condition. The most characteristic symptoms include: snoring, low sleep quality, constant fatigue, as well as arrhythmia, arterial hypertension and heart disease in the longer run. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) causes a chronic ischemia during sleep. When not treated, it may increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.
